The St George's Centre, formerly the barracks church to HMS Pembroke, the Chatham shore base, now has its own (considerably extended) gallery.

The Medway River includes Chatham's Historic Dockyard, and a sweep of water from the Thames Estuary into the heart of Kent. Industrial areas share the estuary with salt marshes and wildfowl, Chatham is at the heart of the biggest regeneration scheme in Europe - the Thames Gateway - and upstream, beyond the motorways and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link there are expanses of peace, tranquility, puttering pleasure boats, and wonderful riverside walks.
These photographs bring together the various aspects of the river in a series of galleries covering the river from Arlington Lock, Maidstone to the Thames estuary.
THE COLLECTION:
It is split into chapters, starting inland at Maidstone (a) and ending at Sheerness (l).
The river is changing. The Navy has gone that for 450 years dominated life around the estuary. The industry is also rapidly disappearing. These pictures seek to reflect the changes, and the beauty, of Medway.
